Eyelash extensions are a very popular and beautiful alternative to makeup, especially these days when everything else is hiding behind a mask. There are a few things to consider when deciding whether or not to go with eyelash extensions.
TIP 1: You get what you pay for. Seek out experienced professionals. The process of eyelash extension application is incredibly meticulous and takes time to master. Improper application can cause unnecessary irritation to your follicles and eyes.
TIP 2: Adhesives are everything! Some adhesives on the market can be quite harsh and if you have any kind of sensitivity, fumes or harsh acrylates can leave you with itchy swollen eyes. I recommend first-timers ask to make sure their stylist has a medical-grade adhesive option. This is appropriate for most eyes.
TIP 3: More is not always better! As tempting as it may be you don't want to add too much weight to your lashes. A good rule of thumb is one to two millimeters longer than your natural eyelashes, and if your natural lashes are more on the thin side make sure your stylist is using smaller diameter eyelash extensions. You want your natural lashes to be able to grow and shed in their own growth cycle. Weighing them down will cause them to shed out early and cause your lashes to be more sparse until the new hairs grow back in.
