LOOK 1: LEATHER

This time of year is the perfect transition between winter and spring – the air is still cool and crisp, but it’s not so freezing that you don’t want to venture outside. Whilst it would be very hopeful of me to say that spring is in full swing, things are beginning to bloom and the nights are becoming lighter therefore, so they should in your wardrobe! Sometimes a mix up of fabrics is enough to bring springtime into your closet, and adding a dash of bold, contrasting color can be an unexpected yet fun twist.

Let us not forget here in Denver we can experience with up to four seasons within twenty-four hours and the weather continues to be a bit unpredictable at the beginning of the season. It’s nice to have options for layering that can be added or removed throughout the day.  Our snowy sprinkles won’t be here for long, so you really have to bust out all your cute knitwear while you can. Whilst the looks are layer-less in this month's feature, they’re perfect to give you ideas for what to wear under a warm yet chic duster coat and will have you looking drab to fab within moments of whipping off your outwear for the ultimate daytime style.

The Leather Look: If I’m waiting to take my outfit up a notch a leather skirt is the way to go. There's something about leather that gives me a sense of confidence whilst looking sleek and amps up any day or evening look. The power of a leather skirt works wonders in your wardrobe and makes you feel feminine yet also like you can do anything! An important thing to remember is that leather - does not have to mean black. A softer pastel tone is extremely flattering and perfect for Spring.  I teamed this skirt with the dreamiest of knits from Marni, light and cozy, whilst being buttery soft on the skin.

LOOK 2: THE COLOR POP

We all have days where we feel a little lackluster in the self-confidence department and our moods really affect our attitude to fashion, but there’s something about bold color and a slogan tee that just encapsulates a strong sense of empowerment. Sometimes we need to add a dash of color into our outfit to feel powerful and that's exactly what happened when I tried on this orange t-shirt by Mother. Perfect to add to any denim jean and your casual day time look is just that little bit more thought through. I love cheeky slogans and captions and this really caught my eye! You can add heels to this look to make it happy hour appropriate, or even throw the coat over for a relaxed date night (studies show that peoples are attracted to women wearing a bold color, so you can be on your date night A-game while still being comfortable!).

LOOK 3: THE TAILORED TROUSER

I cannot lie to any of you - THESE TROUSERS ARE TO DIE FOR. The fit, the checkered print, the material - they look expensively tailored without even trying. I adore them. These are perfect to look cute at the office without being inappropriate with a shirt whilst being incredibly stylish for shopping or a brunch date. When styling the rest of your outfit, go for simple, timeless pieces that pop. I absolutely love this simple t-shirt also from See by Chloe for a streamlined appearance but adding an interesting color to the look. I love color and pattern together, between the chilly, snowy mornings and the sunny blue skies afternoons I think we could all use a dash of color and print and to lighten up the day. Walking around a sea of black and grey Lululemon looks is great and all - but it’s entirely possible to be bold and chic in a cooler climate. Nothing puts a spring in my step on a cold day like a smart yet stylish weekday look.

LOOK 4: THE FUN KNIT PIECE

It’s no secret that sweaters are everyone’s go-to outfit staple right now. This season’s coziest jumpers are the key to staying warm (but still fabulous) and they are my ultimate must-have for a cooler day. I love wearing a soft sweater with a pair of jeans for running daily errands. Tip: Because sweaters are all different, make sure to be careful when washing them. Some may need to be hand-washed while others need to be air-dried. We don’t want any shrunken or snagged sweaters! Look after them and they’ll last you for years to come. I thought this orange knit piece was fun and rather different not to mention snuggly. What a win!
