Cherry Creek Shopping Center Presents Community First with Abby Costello of Kate Spade
A Cherry Creek Fashion Brand Partnership
Presented by Cherry Creek Shopping Center
Shopping centers like Cherry Creek fuel the local economy and help our neighbors and our community get back to work. With over 3,000 employees from the Denver area, Cherry Creek Shopping Center wants to thank you for putting our community first and supporting those that live and work in it.
This month, Cherry Creek Shopping Center launches the Community First initiative which includes shining a spotlight on the wonderful employees at various brands and supporting charities and organizations in the community. In part 2 of our 8-part weekly Community First Series, we feature Abby Costello of Kate Spade. Cherry Creek Shopping Center will be making a donation to Denver Dumb Friends League on Abby’s behalf.
Cherry Creek Fashion: Abby, how long have you worked at Kate Spade at Cherry Creek, and what’s your favorite thing about working here?
Abby Costello: I’ve been working at Kate Spade in Cherry Creek for only a month and a half! My favorite thing about working here is my associates and customers. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms, and it has made the transition so amazing. I’ve been working in retail for almost 10 years, so I also love watching fashion trends change throughout the years.
CCF: How long have you lived in the Denver area, and what do you enjoy the most about living here?
AC: I moved to Denver about a month and a half ago from Aspen. I am excited to be living in a big city with all new opportunities. Growing up in a small mountain town, there are no shopping malls at all. To say the least, I’m so happy to actually be working in one!
CCF: When you are not at work, what are your favorite things to do?
AC: It’s a little difficult with the Covid 19 virus to really explore and learn about the area. Luckily, I have great people who live here and are willing to show me all the fun places (that are open). I love to hike and explore, so I am looking forward to doing more of that here in the future.
CCF: Are you involved in any community organizations or charities in the Denver area? Tell us more about them and why you support their mission.
AC: Since I just moved to the area, I have not committed to a specific organization or charity to work with yet. I am currently looking for places within the community that could use a helping hand. I am passionate about animals, so I would be excited to work with any human society. I am open and looking for suggestions!
CCF: In addition to Kate Spade, what are your favorite stores or restaurants to visit at Cherry Creek?
AC: I’ve been only a few places to eat in the Cherry Creek area, one of my favorites being Hapa Sushi; they’ve got an amazing happy hour menu. I’ve heard great things about Flower Child, so I’m looking forward to checking that out soon.
CCF: What’s your favorite motivational quote?
AC: “If you’re not satisfied with your life, it’s time to invent a new one” -Mary Wells
