This month, Cherry Creek Shopping Center launches the Community First initiative which includes shining a spotlight on the wonderful employees at various brands and supporting charities and organizations in the community. In part 1 of our 8-part weekly Community First Series, we feature Marilyn Ortiz of MAC Cosmetics. Cherry Creek Shopping Center will also be making a donation of $1000 to the Young Americans Center for Financial Education on Marilyn’s behalf.
Cherry Creek Fashion: Marilyn, you’ve worked at MAC Cosmetics at Cherry Creek for two years, what’s your favorite thing about working here?
Marilyn Ortiz: My favorite thing about working here is getting to meet so many people from across the globe since we are the closest mall to the airport. I love that my customers are of all ages! We also have everyone from makeup lovers to professional artists coming into the store.
CCF: How long have you lived in the Denver area, and what do you enjoy the most about living here?
MO: I am born and raised in Denver, and I have lived here all my life! One of the best things about living in Denver is sampling all of the diverse dishes from the wonderful restaurants in the city.
CCF: When you are not at work, what are your favorite things to do?
MO: One of my favorite things to do in Denver is to discover a new family-owned business hotspot.
CCF: In addition to MAC Cosmetics, what are your favorite stores or restaurants to visit at Cherry Creek?
MO: My go-to store is Forever 21. I love keeping up with all of the new trends of the season!
CCF: What’s your favorite motivational quote?
MO: When you get tired learn to rest, not quit!
