December is usually the month of holiday parties, whether it’s with your friends, co-workers, or of course – your family. Sadly, this year has been quite the polar opposite and the festivities which are usually upon us will be different to previous years… despite this, I implore you to make the most of this special time of year with your nearest and dearest. Whilst we may be confined to a somewhat more intimate setting, it is the perfect time to dress up, feel luxurious, and have the most glamorous FaceTime of the year to your Aunt Margaret. The holiday season truly is upon us, which means that as excited as I am about mulled wine and unwrapping presents, I’m equally excited about the next New Year’s Eve and all that 2021 will bring.
I have found the perfect winter dresses so that whether you're hanging out fireside at home with a much-needed gin or welcoming in 2021 dancing barefoot in the living room to the best of ABBA you will feel and look your best.
DRESS 1: THE LUXE LOOK
This dress couldn’t be any sleeker - Velvet is the perfect winter material for the holidays and I just adore wearing it. I love teaming it up with fun accessories and sky-high stilettos and the best part is that this is a sexy red number you can whip out for many a glamorous cocktail occasion in the New Year when restrictions have lifted.
DRESS 2: A WHITE CHRISTMAS
Your trusty little black dress is always a great option for holiday parties, but I wanted to try something a little different this year. Instead of black, why not white?! I can almost hear you shuddering as I type this but hear me out - You can safely sip away on that delicious red wine, safe in the knowledge that your charming little nephews and nieces are all tucked up at their homes and won't be barging past you in a mad dash to get more Christmas pudding. Pair the chicest dress I’ve seen all year with the softest jacket of heavenly dreams and you won’t want to take it off… like ever!
DRESS 3: THE PARTY DRESS
I never seem to decide on what I’m going to wear for NYE until the last minute, it’s always a fluster and I am always frustrated that I didn’t plan accordingly. For me, this is always the time to pull out the most sparkly number in your closet and it’s always a great time to try something different. This dress is a bold fashion piece, a real statement number that will have you shining more than the glitterball trophy from Dancing With The Stars. I love that this mini also will keep you warm(ish) with the long sleeves - perfect to wear at midnight on the roof watching fireworks with Champagne in hand.
Do yourself a favor my loves and be bold, choose something a little bit different for this year’s festive season. Get out of your sweats and sneakers and drown yourselves in velvet, sequins, silk, metallics…sometimes all together… I mean, why ever not?! Let’s end 2020 in luxe glamour and welcome 2021 in serious style. After all, 2020 has been the year of being indoors… but in 2021 we will all be ready for closet overhauls, style bravery, and having fun with your clothes. Merry Christmas my Darlings, and I wish you all a Happy New Year.
