Annie Bloj: Germany Gabrielle has been taking the modeling world by storm with her incredible style, natural beauty, and positive vibe. Originally trained as a nurse, she has recently leveraged her experience in the fashion and beauty industry to launch her line of beauty products, GG’s Cosmetics. Interested in all aspects of beauty for this issue, we were excited to explore Germany’s perspective and find more about this new venture.
Germany, you are a busy model with Wilhelmina Denver and have been featured in many stunning shoots. How did you get started in the industry?
Germany Gabrielle: My first boyfriend's dad was a photographer, and had a studio in the Aurora mall, and would take pictures all the time! He suggested I should get into modeling, so literally that week, I reached out to all the agencies in Colorado and submitted the pictures he took of me. Diana from Donna Baldwin had me come in and signed me immediately! Since then I have branched out and been signed in New York, Atlanta and LA. After I was done traveling I came back and signed with Wilhelmina and for the past 3 years, I have been enjoying my time with them.
AB: What do you like most about modeling and the fashion industry?
GG: The different roles and types of modeling I get to encounter are what really excites me, but overall I love learning all that I can in this industry.
AB: You recently started a beauty company, GG’s Cosmetics. What inspired you to start this new venture?
GG: My mom was the creator behind GG’s Cosmetics. She founded an eyelash line that I was not comfortable with her selling as-is ( I wasn’t too crazy about the esthetic she was taking). I kind of jumped in and wanted to do a mother-daughter thing but she said I was being too extravagant and told me to take over and do my own thing and make it an actual brand and so I did.
AB: What sets GG’s Cosmetics apart from other brands and how do you see it growing in the future?
GG: GG’s Cosmetics is a Cruelty-Free, Organic, Gluten-free, Vegan Brand. Literally, every product I have contains no more than 4 to 6 ingredients. My products are hand-made right out of my home. Making pure products means so much because I use them on myself! Quality products are not only actually helping people's skin but showing myself I'm really making a change through honesty! I really want to bring a Cruelty-Free, Organic brand to America and across the world that people can trust every day for any and all skin types.
AB: What makes you feel beautiful? When are you in your element?
GG: Being happy in everything I do. I’m happy no matter what I'm wearing or what I look like I feel beautiful.
