Welcome to THE DECEMBER 2019 HOLIDAY ISSUE
Happy Holidays to you and yours! Whatever you celebrate this time of year (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or just some hard-earned time off), I hope that you are surrounded by family and friends who love and support you. Since becoming a mother, Christmas in our household has taken on extra meaning with a very excited little boy looking forward to the additional family time.
Our cover star for our very first Holiday Issue is the insanely beautiful Danette Stuckey. I met Danette through a mutual friend, our very own Culture & Style Editor Annie Bloj, who interviewed our cover star for this issue. Danette is a model, stylist and is also a co-owner of Frasca Food & Wine, Tavernetta and the soon to be opened Sunday Vinyl among other projects.
Our feature story this month is Julia Tobey, the powerhouse performer and founder of Give 5 Productions. We photographed the creator of the Gatsby themed party, The Cottonwood Club, at a secret location at the Halcyon Hotel in Cherry Creek.
For the first time, we cover the backstage activities at a fashion show to give you a look at the upcoming hair trends. We tagged along with the team from Matthew Morris Salon & Skincare at the Service with Style Fashion Show which benefits Volunteers of America.
We also feature the Artistic Director of Matthew Morris, Meredith Boles, who shares her career journey and also gives great advice on finding your signature hair look in the new year.
I am sure many of you will be hosting holiday parties and get togethers, so we asked the General Manager of Mizu Izakaya and frequent party host, Johnny Luang-Khot, to share some tips for throwing an epic holiday bash.
Our charming British columnist, Stefanie Jones, is back! And her piece this month is a must read and follow. Stefanie talks about 5 ways to pamper and treat yourself in this busy season for Stef In The City.
