Shopping centers like Cherry Creek fuel the local economy and help our neighbors and our community get back to work. With over 3,000 employees from the Denver area, Cherry Creek Shopping Center wants to thank you for putting our community first and supporting those that live and work in it.
This month, Cherry Creek Shopping Center launches the Community First initiative which includes shining a spotlight on the wonderful employees at various brands and supporting charities and organizations in the community. In part 4 of our 8-part weekly Community First Series, we feature Heather O’Hara of Altar’d State.
Cherry Creek Fashion: You’ve worked at Altar’d State at Cherry Creek for 3.5 years, what’s your favorite thing about working here?
Heather O’Hara: I love why we do what we do. As a giveback company, it is more than just selling clothes. We help feed, clothe, and educate children in Peru, and on Monday’s we work with local non-profits. The team bond at Altar’d State is something you can’t beat.
CCF: How long have you lived in the Denver area, and what do you enjoy the most about living here?
Heather: I have lived in Denver for 7 years. I love the welcoming community in Denver as well as the variety of activities in and around the city.
CCF: When you are not at work, what are your favorite things to do?
Heather: I love spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and skiing. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family at some of the amazing restaurants in our community.
CCF: Are you involved in any community organizations or charities in the Denver area?
Heather: One of the reasons I love my job is how we can help support our community. When we choose our ‘Mission Monday’ partners, we seek out those that we are passionate about and also those who are in need in our community.
CCF: In addition to Altar’d State, what are your favorite stores and restaurants to visit at Cherry Creek?
Heather: I love shopping at Freebird, Lush, and MAC Cosmetics because of the outstanding service I receive every time I walk in their doors.
CCF: What’s your favorite motivational quote?
Heather: Be a light for all to see.
