Cherry Creek Fashion: Angela, Tell us about your role at Rise Nation. We hear that it is the new hot ticket in Cherry Creek!
Angela Wood: As a fitness enthusiast and Alumni of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, I have always had a passion for inspiring others and sharing my love for fitness and community. At Rise Nation, I teach upwards of 6 classes per week and I help engage in all things Community Relations. As the Community Relations Manager, I love spreading the word about what Rise Nation is and how we are able to help people reach their fitness goals as well as build a warm community for our clients.
CCF: Give us an overview of Rise Nation and what this fitness method entails.
AW: Rise Nation classes are instructor lead and tempo-based. The 30-minute workout has the highest calorie burn per minute and the environment will help you reach new heights. The class is a zero impact, full-body, cardio workout - all done on a Versaclimber. For 30 minutes, the instructor is leading the class through variations of choreography on the machine. With the industry's state of the art lights, music, and instructors, Rise Nation will help you climb to new heights and reach your fitness goals.
CCF: What are the benefits of working out with Rise Nation?
AW: There are many benefits of working out with Rise Nation! Since our workout is zero impact, it makes it possible for everyone. It is nice to your joints and still allows a full-body workout. When we say full-body workout - we really mean it! You are working your legs and glute muscles, arms and back, and most importantly your core. Besides the toning benefit of your muscles, you are getting your heart rate up and helping strengthen your cardiovascular ability.
CCF: As a fitness instructor, exercise is a regular part of your life. What advice can you give to our readers about staying motivated and including exercise as a part of their daily or weekly routine?
AW: I think everyone exercises for different reasons and that is the beauty of it! I love that all of our clients have different goals and reasons why they love to work out. It's what makes our community a family. What is most important to me as an instructor is that the clients feel good about themselves and that they are doing it because they enjoy it! It is very important that our clients know that Rise Nation is a safe zone, and I will always be their cheerleader! In our classes, we encourage our members to continue reaching their goals and we keep it fun so they keep coming back for more.
CCF: It’s a new year and many resolution lists include new fitness routines. Any advice on how to choose the right workout for your personality and fitness goals?
AW: I think it is important to set new goals all the time! With the New Year around the corner, I always recommend trying something new and getting out of your comfort zone. I believe Rise Nation is just that! You never know if you love something until you try it.
CCF: Describe your weekly fitness routine.
AW: I am a firm believer in balance and taking part in modalities that complement each other and things that I enjoy! In addition to teaching five or six climb classes, I usually take at least one or two additional classes from a couple of different Rise Nation coaches. In addition, I like to do a couple of days of weight training in a group setting to compliment climbing.
