Esther Lee Leach interviews Britt Jackson, Vice President and GM of Neiman Marcus in Cherry Creek. Britt wears clothing from Neiman Marcus.

Esther Lee Leach: Tell us a bit about yourself and your background.

Britt Jackson: :  I grew up in South Florida, where I met my husband Scott and now have two sons, Evan  and Kyle.  During my career, I have had the opportunity to live in many wonderful cities, including Raleigh, Chicago, and Indianapolis. Three and a half years ago, I was recruited by Neiman Marcus to become the Vice President, General Manager of the Denver store, which is hands down my favorite city.

ELL: Describe your role at Neiman Marcus Cherry Creek.

Britt J: As VP, General Manager, I am responsible for the strategic outlook for the store.  This includes managing a team of 150 plus associates, leading our management team and working with the Denver community to continue our support of the local arts and philanthropy.  I also work with our corporate team in Dallas to convey the needs of our customers in regards to merchandise and marketing. 

ELL: How would you describe your style?

Britt J: I believe that style is a very personal expression of yourself.  My style is classic with a touch of rocker edge. 

ELL: Do you have a go-to fashion formula or uniform when you need to pull an outfit together quickly for work?

Britt J: My go-to fashion formula is definitely black. It transitions easy from day to night, you can mix high and low and mix in texture and pattern with different fabrics. 

ELL: Where do you find your style inspiration?

Britt J: Some of my style inspirations are Dianne Keaton, Jennifer Aniston and Megan Markle.  I also look at street style and international cities for inspiration. 

ELL: Is there anyone you look to for style ideas?

Britt J: Of course, I look towards Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing for his style and trend selections for the season. 

ELL: Who are your favorite designers or clothing lines at Neiman Marcus?

Britt J: It would be impossible to pick one designer, but I am always inspired by the European and American designers and how each one interprets the season’s trends. 

ELL: Do you have any advice for someone who wants to shop at Neiman Marcus? Any tips to make their experience more rewarding?

Britt J: Don’t let shopping at Neiman Marcus be intimidating!  We have a team of wonderful associates that are here to help fulfill your wants and needs.  Whether it is shopping for a special occasion, a gift, beauty make over or updating your wardrobe.
