Business Spotlight: The Bearded Rooster
I discovered Jake, owner of The Bearded Rooster, through my husband. Jake cut Richard’s hair and did such an awesome job that I wanted to find out whether he could cut my afro. I totally expected him to say NOO when I showed up at his vintage styled place inside of The District Shops in Cherry Creek but to my surprise, Jake is an afro master! He trained at the London School of Barbering and then did an advanced course at Schorem Hairdressers Barbers in the Netherlands. Jake also gives back to the community and offers free hair cuts through Urban Peak Job Readiness and Human Kind Project in Civic Center Park. Yep, so a very cool bearded hipster gave my afro hair a very cool cut. Jakereboulbarber.com
Product Line Obsession: Body Love by Tal
There are so many great small businesses at The District Shops in Cherry Creek! Another one of my discoveries is the beauty company Body Love by Tal owned by a recent college graduate Natalya King. All of her products are organic and vegan with many customizable options. A great choice is the body butter with your own choice of essential oils. Their hair growth oil is also making a huge impression on their customers. Bodylovebytal.com
